Who it's for

This kit is for parents and caregivers of K–12 students who have an IEP, or who are being evaluated for one. Does this sound familiar?

The notice just came

You got the meeting notice. You're not sure what to bring or what to ask.

The meeting moves fast

Afterward, it's hard to remember what was agreed and who will do what.

You know your child best

But it's hard to put your concerns into words in a room full of people.

It works for an initial eligibility meeting, an annual review, a reevaluation, or a transition meeting for teens.

This kit is not a fit if you need advice about your child's specific situation. We can't review your child's IEP. See the free help listed in the FAQ.

Questions parents ask

Is this legal advice?

No. It is educational information and organizing tools. Buying it does not create a professional relationship of any kind. We can't review your child's IEP or advise you about your child's situation.

For legal questions, contact a licensed attorney. You can also get free help:

Will this get my child more services?

We can't promise any result. The kit helps you prepare, share your concerns clearly, and keep good records. The IEP team makes the decisions.

Which edition should I buy?

If you live in Illinois, choose the Illinois Edition. It cites Illinois rules. If you live in any other state, choose the General Edition. It cites federal IDEA rules and includes a page for writing down your own state's rules.

Does the General Edition cover my state?

It covers federal IDEA rules, which apply in every state. Your state may add more protections. Use the "Look up your state's rules" page to write them down. For free help, look up your state's Parent Training and Information Center at parentcenterhub.org/find-your-center.

What's changing in Illinois on January 1, 2027?

Public Act 104-716 amends the Illinois School Code section the Illinois Edition cites. When we compared the text, the change in that section renames the "Illinois School for the Visually Impaired" to the "Illinois School for the Blind." We did not find any change to the timelines in the kit. You'll still get a free updated version after it takes effect.

How do I get the kit?

It's an instant digital download from Etsy. After you buy, you download 1 ZIP file. Nothing physical will be shipped.

Can I use it on my phone?

For filling in, a computer or tablet with Adobe Acrobat Reader works best. You can also print every page.

Does it work in Google Sheets and Google Docs?

Yes. Upload the .xlsx and .docx files to your own Google Drive.

Do you see what I type?

No. The files stay on your own device or in your own account.

What if it isn't helpful?

Message us through Etsy within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.
